Dashboards Guide

The Home page gives you an at-a-glance view of your RFID operations, inventory, and system health. The cards you see depend on your permissions, and you can customize which widgets are visible and how they are arranged.

One Home, Shaped by Permissions

Everyone lands on the same Home page. The cards you can add follow your permissions: Activity needs View Scan Events or View Workflows, the inventory cards need View Inventory, and Device Health and Reader Data Ingestion are system-wide device views for administrators only. The Set up Tagnet bar at the bottom of the page is also an administrator's. The presets in the widgets dialog give each kind of user a starting layout from whatever cards they have.

The Home Page

While the installation still has core setup steps to do, a Set up Tagnet bar sits at the bottom of every page, Home included, with the progress, the next step and a button straight to it; it links to the Setup page, says Setup complete once the core steps are done, and can be dismissed per user.

The Home page's job is to tell you in a few seconds whether anything needs attention and to be a place to jump from. Each card answers one question and links to the page with the detail: a View button in the card header opens that page, and a figure inside a card that leads somewhere is itself a link, marked with an arrow chip that names where it goes. A figure with nowhere to go is a plain number. The charts live on the analytics tabs of the Scan Events, Workflows and Integrations hubs and on the Inventory hub's group-by tables. Each card ends with a one-line footer that says which period it covers, and a card with nothing to show says what would fill it (for example, that a reader has to report tags and a workflow has to handle them). Cards that are available but off by default (Location Map, Item Type Distribution) can be turned on from the widgets dialog. Importing and exporting Excel files is on the Inventory page: Quick Import is in its Add menu and Quick Export is its Export button.

Widgets

Device Health Widget

Administrators only. Whether your readers are up and reporting (inactive devices are excluded). Three tiles sit across the top:

  • Health: Healthy devices out of the total, with a chip that says how many need attention (offline or warning) or that all are healthy
  • Connectivity: Fleet-wide uptime over the selected time range, with the change against the previous period
  • Scans reported: How many devices reported scan events in the range. An idle chip lists the devices with no scans when you hover it, which catches a reader that is connected but reading nothing

Below the tiles, the device list has one row per device: a health icon (hover for the detail), the device type icon, the name, a connectivity timeline in 15-minute intervals (hover for uptime and gaps), and a sparkline of scan events over the range. A device that has not connected yet shows "Awaiting connection". Click a row to open that device; View devices in the card header opens the Devices page. If any device credentials need rotation, a warning at the top of the card says how many. With no devices yet, the card shows an empty state until readers are added.

Activity Widget

What happened in the selected time range, as four numbers, each a link to the page with the detail:

  • Scan events and Tags read, with trend against the previous period, linking to Scan Events
  • Workflow runs and Failed actions, linking to the Runs tab; failed actions turn red when there are any

Below the numbers, anything that needs attention: tags that did not match a read signature, failed or dead-lettered integration deliveries in the period, and deliveries waiting in the outbox right now, each linking to where it is dealt with. The charts behind these numbers are on the Scan Events, Workflows and Integrations analytics tabs. Until the first scan event or workflow run in the scopes you can see, the card shows No activity yet instead of the numbers; after that, a quiet period shows zeros.

Reader Data Ingestion Widget

Administrators only. Whether data is arriving: requests, errors and response times for the reader ingest endpoints over the selected time range. Device Health says a device is up; this says its reads are getting through. Hover a tile for the detail behind its figure: the total requests behind the rate, the error count split into 4xx and 5xx, the fastest and slowest response, and the data sent back out. View ingest history in the card header opens the Devices hub's Ingest History tab, which lists the raw ingest events.

Inventory Widget

What is on hand and what moved, as four numbers, each a link:

  • On hand: total quantity, with the change since the start of the selected time range. Quantity counts each item's quantity field, which is 1 for item types that don't track quantity.
  • Value: total value where cost data exists
  • Movements: transactions in the time range, with trend against the previous period, and a breakdown by transaction type below the numbers
  • Outside inventory: items with no current location, linking to the inventory list filtered to No location

Per-location trends are on the Inventory hub, grouped by location.

Inventory by Location Widget

A detailed table of inventory distributed across locations:

  • Location count, quantity, and total value summary tiles. Quantity counts each item's quantity field, which is 1 for item types that don't track quantity.
  • Location table of the top eight locations by quantity, with a relative bar chart for quick comparison; View all opens the Inventory hub grouped by location, which lists every location with a 30-day trend
  • At half width the card shows a one-line summary and the top five instead
  • Location hierarchy shown as path chips; each chip links to the location
  • Excel export for offline analysis

This widget also supports location and location type filters.

Location Map Widget

An interactive map displaying your locations as color-coded markers:

  • Markers are colored by location type
  • Click a marker to see the location name, type, and description
  • The map auto-zooms to fit all visible locations
  • Only locations with configured coordinates are displayed

Item Type Distribution Widget

A donut chart showing how inventory is distributed across item types:

  • Item type count and total items summary
  • Visual breakdown by item type with legend

Supports the same location and location type filters as other inventory widgets.

Time Range

The Activity, Inventory, Reader Data Ingestion and Device Health widgets share a common time range selector:

RangeChart IntervalLabel Format
1 hour15 minutesHH:mm
6 hours1 hourHH:mm
24 hours4 hoursHH:mm
7 days1 dayMMM dd

Your selected time range is saved and restored when you return to the dashboard.

Trend Indicators

Widgets that show trend comparisons use the following indicators:

IndicatorMeaning
Arrow up (green)More than 5% increase compared to the previous period
Arrow down (orange)More than 5% decrease compared to the previous period
Arrow right (gray)Within 5% of the previous period (flat)

The previous period is the same duration immediately before the selected range. For example, if you select 24 hours, the trend compares to the 24 hours before that.

Customizing Your Dashboard

Click the settings icon on the dashboard to open the widgets dialog. It has two steps.

Choose Widgets

The first step lists every card available to you with a sentence on what it answers. Turn on the ones you want on Home. Hidden widgets are not loaded or rendered, keeping the dashboard focused on what matters to you.

Start from a preset sets the switches, order and sizes for a kind of user in one go, and everything stays editable afterwards:

  • Operations Supervisor: Device Health, Activity and Inventory side by side, Reader Data Ingestion, Inventory by Location. Whether anything needs attention, across devices, data and inventory.
  • Device Admin: Device Health, Reader Data Ingestion, Activity at full width, Location Map. Devices, the data they post, and what runs on it.
  • Inventory Specialist: Inventory at full width, Inventory by Location, Activity at full width. What is on hand, where it is, and what moved.

A preset only offers the cards you have permission to see, so the device cards are left out of a preset for anyone who is not an administrator.

Arrange Widgets

The second step is a preview of the Home grid itself. Drag a card to move it. Cards that come in two sizes have a size button that switches them between half and full width: Activity and Inventory show their four numbers two by two at half width and in a line at full width. Cards flow left to right, so what the preview shows is what Home shows, and you can fix an odd wrap before saving. On smaller screens, widgets stack vertically regardless.

Reset to Defaults

Click Reset to Defaults to restore the original widget set, order and sizes.

All customizations are saved per user and persist across sessions.

Access Scope Filtering

Dashboard data respects your access scope assignments. If you have access to multiple scopes, the scope filter dropdown in the header lets you narrow the dashboard to specific scopes. All scopes are shown by default; uncheck any scopes you want to hide. At least one scope must remain selected; the filter will not allow an empty selection. Changing the scope filter refreshes all widgets immediately.

Administrators see data across all scopes they have access to. Standard users see only data within their assigned scopes. For details on using the scope filter, see Scope Filter.
